Sister Nelly and the Spirit

HOLLA! Another great week here in Chachani! Daniel and Evelyn are getting married this week! WOOT WOOT! Araceli is preparing for her baptism and yesterday we found another miracle! After months away from Arequipa, Hno Diego came back from Juliaca and we found him just as he was leaving the house with a member. Trapped. hehe We had a wonderful lesson about repentance and the sister who came with us (Nelly) had the perfect life experience to help him in his specific needs. More proof that the Lord guides this work because we had no idea that this sister has passed through similar experiences. And we had a good time with Sister Nelly (approx 63 years old) full sprinting to catch the bus to take us to our next appointment. I love the abuelitas here in Peru. They are so powerful!  This week in studies I have been pondering 2 Nephi 2, and the power of laws:

13 And if ye shall say there is no law, ye shall also say there is no sin. If ye shall say there is no sin, ye shall also say there is no righteousness. And if there be no righteousness there be no happiness. And if there be no righteousness nor happiness there be no punishment nor misery. And if these things are not there is no God. And if there is no God we are not, neither the earth; for there could have been no creation of things, neither to act nor to be acted upon; wherefore, all things must have vanished away.

14 And now, my sons, I speak unto you these things for your profit and learning; for there is a God, and he hath created all things, both the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are, both things to act and things to be acted upon.

The knowledge of the laws and commandments are for our "profit and learning" The more we learn, understand and apply the laws, the more we can become agents to act. "I like to think of the law of gravity- we could think of it as something that limits us. we could jump higher, run faster with less gravitational force. But really the law of gravity is a blessing. (Opposition in all things) That allows us to move and exert force. And when mankind learned more about gravity and applied the law of gravity- accomplished the impossible- they used the laws of gravity to fly. -The whole universe operates on laws. How is it that God can work such grand miracles<? He understands and perfectly applies the laws that govern this universe. 

If there is one simple truth that I have learned, it is that Our Heavenly Father loves us, and for that wants to teach us al the truth (laws) that He can. Becuase it is applying the laws and keeping the commandments that brings true happiness and miracles in our lives. 

I loved what our CCM president once said, "If your not happy- repent!"
