Sister MacFarland taught me to love every moment

Hola from Mollendo! For those of you still reading my emails, once again, thanks for your patience!

These past few weeks have been a bit of a roller coaster of emotions. My companion Hermana McFarland had been having serious problems with her stomach for over 8 months and just yesterday left for home to receive the medical attention she needs. From her description of Peruvian hospitals, I am willing to avoid any delicious looking but maybe sketchy food out there. But she is definitely missed. Hermana McFarland loved. the. mission. She would literally be on the verge of passing out, seeing stars and crunched over in pain, yet, she would have a smile on her face and ask, "Let's go contact!" This woman has got grit. And she really taught me to love every moment. And I will share of few of the crazy, funny, spiritual experiences:

-I found ketchup and animal shaped chicken nuggets in a store here.

-One morning after breakfast the son of our pensionista called us over and said look- pointing at the octopus in a bucket in the sink. He starting poking it and I just thought to myself- yep there's lunch. I'll bring my ketchup.

-Tender mercy: In the previous transfer my president moved the Hermana Leaders from another area to Alto Inclan her in Mollendo, so while I was taking care of my companion they were able to leave the area, and buy here medications. tHAT also made it possible for my to go on divisions and take care of investigators while my companion was sick and unable to leave the house.

- My companion has a crazy diet which includes jello, and while I was out on divisions, she and the other hermanas incased one of my plaques in jello. bahaha

This Saturday was the baptism of our investigator Javier. He was BEAMING. And he shared an incredible testimony of the truthfulness of the BOM, Joseph Smith and has shared that testimony with his new friend, Markos who happens to be an investigator of the other hermanas and he is helping him prepare for his baptism.

-Now I am in trio again with the Hermana Leaders. Which is such a blessing to stay here in the area and with these Hermana. They are awesome. And we have some crazy times in our little apartment.

These are really just a few experiences, I wish I could share more. But I hope you all take a min to appreciate all of the crazy experiences that we have in this life. Heavenly Father has a purpose for each one of them! Love you all and have a great week!
