Hola Hermana McFarland
HOLA from Mollendo! It's been another amazing week here in Mollendo. Some words for the wise- if you ever go to Peru- be careful about the beans you eat, and at what hour you eat them. They're powerful. And knocked me out for a day this week. hahaha But we are back in the game
This week I finished my training. WHUT. Here comes real life in the mission And the other three sisters here in Alto Inclan left the area. Now there are three gringitas and a hermana from Ecuador. My new companion is Hna. Mcfarland from North Carolina. She is pretty much sunshine in the form of a sister missionary. And we are pretty psyched to be working together here in Alto Inclan.
I've been thinking a lot about what I have learned in these past three months and what goals I have for the rest of my mission. As I was thinking of this I came across Philipenses chapter 3. All that Paul suffered for Christ, all that He was willing to do. I love his advice to forget what was behind him and look forward with the goal to be perfected- not because we are perfect, but because through Christ we can be perfected. We have this hope in our Savior that HE can transform us. I testify that Christ truly has the power to transform us. I felt this transformative power as I have worked through many of my own weaknesses and shortcomings and I am so excited to see the change in these following months. Yeah maybe we are going to suffer a little bit, " but we are gonna be happy about it" ;) I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to share this truly life-changing, soul changing gospel with the people here in Peru. It is incredible to see this transforming power in my own life and the lives of those people I have come to know her in PERU. Love you all and have a great week!
