Miracles in Mollendo
Hola!
Yet another great week here in Mollendo! It has been a week of miracles. Literally. Earlier this week, we were contacting, and our goal was to knock on as many green houses as we could, and that is where we met Milagros. Translation- Miracles. We literally met Miracles. She and her three children could not have been more prepared to receive the gospel. Her parents had been active members of the church but she was never baptized because she was scared of the water. But she loves the church, taught her children to pray, and even helped us explain parts of the Restoration to her children and they are preparing to be baptized! Remember the 97 year old man I mentioned earlier, he to accepted and came with us to church on Sunday! And I will never forget the smile on his face when he walked in the doors, was welcomed by members, and then tackled in a hug by his sister. Oiiii So much happiness.

This week I have been thinking a lot about love this week. One morning as I was jamming to motab, I heard the words, where love is, there God is also. What is first and greatest commandment? Love God. And then love your neighbor. In PMG there is a section dedicated to Christlike attributes and as I have studied them I have noticed that each of those attributes stem off of love, charity. Because without charity we are NOTHING. (2 Nephi 26:30) When we have the pure love of Christ, we are going to work more dlligently to serve Him, to be obedient. When we have charity, we will have patience with ourselves, and with others. When we have charity our thoughts will be directed towards Christ and flow into outward manifestations. When we develop this pure love of Christ, we become like Him. (Moroni 7:45-48) And where this love is, God is also. I have loved my time here in Mollendo with my companion, the other Hmas in our area, and the people here. I am learning so much. And I have many great opportunities to develop the Christlike attribute of patience. But most of all it has been incredible to see, feel, and experience the love God has for each of His children. I know that God loves each of us, perfectly, personally and infinitely. What a miracle that is! Love you all and hope you have a great week!
