Hitting the Streets of Mollendo
HEY! I am alive, well and hitting the streets in Mollendo!

Hola from Mollendo!

Hola from Mollendo!
I realized that those of you patient enough to read my emails are probably still wondering que en el mundo I am doing down in Peru. My emails have been somewhat lacking in description, so I will try to cover some disparities. This week we finished our training in the CCM. Each day we would have study, classes and teaching appointments in the casitas in the grounds. After the first three weeks we changed rooms and joined trio of American sisters. What a time we had. One of the sisters in my room e llama Hermana Hollberg is my fill in twin.
We are about as close as you can get, from our love of everything in the mountains, to ketchup to our crazy senses of humor. Our last in the CCM we she pulled out her jar of PB and I pulled out my chocolate chips and we had a feast of what we called Peruvian Reese's on a spoon. It's the simple things in life.
My experience in the CCM was incredible and I will miss the people, ketchup salads, maestros, President y Hermana Moore and the spirit there. The trip to Areqiupa went relatively smoothly. One of the Hermanas in our group was unable to pass through security because her passport did not match her ID. So we all gathered together and prayed on the other side. I have no idea what happened but she was able to pass through. Pray works.
President and Hermana picked us up at the airport, took us on a tour of the temple sight and then we met our companions. My companion Hermana Apaza is from Lima and only has 2 months left in the mission. She will be sorely missed. She is LO MAXIMO. We were assigned with another set of sisters to open an area in Mollendo. There is a lot of work to do here but oh how I LOVE IT HERE! This morning we had a district meeting out in the country. I taughta n English class, made some cow friends and while playing two truths and a lie to get to know our district I learned that in even in Spanish, it impossible for me to lie. hahaha Wow. There is so much I wish I could write but I need to keep it brief. Today we taught our first lesson to Elbedrio. Such a sweet old man. As we taught him how to pray and thank God for all that He was grateful for I was so humbled. ok gtg but All of the people here are so sweet, receptive and I love all the people we have worked with. The church is true. I love the Lord and I know this is His work. Te amo!
