A week of change
HOLA!!!
Time flies when you´re having fun. Each week goes by faster and faster out here! This week we have our first proselyting activity where they send us out into the field with missionaries for a few hours and in two weeks I will be in Arequipa! I am so excited! The CCM is alive again with the next group of missionaries! The number of American hermanas jumped from two to nine and American elders jumped from 6 to 35.
Funny experience of the week- one day after lunch I walk into our district room, I am about to sit down, and there is a snail there. what. So I reach down to pick it up and chuck it out the window when I see another one on the side of my desk. I grab the first, chuck it out the window, grab the second one, and the shell shatters. Yep it was gross. I chucked it out the window along with the other two snails I found later that day. The elders i.
This week has been a week of change. New hermanas, new weather, and a new perspective. This week we listened to the Character of Christ by Elder Bednar. I love Elder Bednar because he goes deep, but keeps his message simple and clear. He boiled down the Character of Christ to one simple idea of turning outwards, especially in times when the natural man would turn inwards. We had a devotional by Bishop Wydell on Sunday and his words reflected the same message, the difference between going on a mission and serving a mission is looking outwards. Their messages hit me so hard. It has been so humbling to see the Lord help me turn from my natural inward gaze to and set my sights outwards. I have learned so much here at the CCM, a lot of Spanish, a lot about teaching, but most of all about coming unto Christ and becoming like Him. I know I am here in the CCM, in this District, in this room, in this companionship, in Peru for a reason. The Lord's hand is there. And He has the master hand to transform us, shape us into something beautiful. I have seen this change in me and cannot wait to share the joy of Christ and His Gospel with the people of Arequipa°! Love you all!
