It's the Climb
Hola from Buenos Aires!
We had one crazy, good week full of miracles, rabies shots and so amny tender mercies. This week Heavenly Father put a wonderful family in our path, they were able to come to church, and now the whole ward is pumped and so excited to get involved, so stay tuned there. :)
It is amazing how the Spirit speaks to us personally, to our knowledge and understanding. In the case of Hna Schmidt its usually in crazy sports analagies. hahaha Earlier this week I was a pondering about how we were working in the area and the Spirit brought a memory to my mind. One day climbing, I was a litle frustrated because I couldnt ge tthe hang of one of the routes. And after taking a quick break, I watched a 12 year old easily, adeptyly climb up the wall. It was then I realized that I was approaching it the wrong way, I was trying to muscle through a route that didnt require much strngth, but more balance and leaning the holds. And I felt the Lord teaching me that I cant approach every "problem" the same way. Life is full of these "problems" but the Lord has a purpose for each one of them. It is working through the problem that we develop, and improve. Some problems require strenght, others flexibility, others balance... and so it is with the problems and challenges in our life. But we are not alone in the climb. We have a climbing buddy- the Holy Ghost- who can guide us, give us the encouragement we need, and also ensure that we are "roped in"- our covenants that bind us to God. And the rope of our covenants is led through anchors in the rock. Just like the Sacrament every Sunday that connect us to Chrsit. Just as the anchors lock us into the rock. Christ is the rock. He is constant, unchanging, and our only way to the Father. If there was no rock, there would be no climbing, no progress.
Climbing buddy- Holy Ghost
Rope and Harness- Baptism and Confirmation
Anchors- Sacrament
Rock- Christ
Life is a giant gameboard of chutes and ladders, but instead of ladders, there are climbing walls. But moving our way across the board is not by chance. The Lord provides us with walls. That many times appear as impossible situaions. But they are there to test our faith, help us grow, move upward, closer to our Heavenly Father.
Climbing? Climb on.
I know that this is the Church of Jesus Christ! I love this gospel! And I am so grateful for my Savior that knows me, and each one of us personally! He lives! I know these things are true because the Spirit has testified of these things to me! Love you all! ITS THE CLIMB!
